In May 2017, CEWAC performed two tests according to SHELL specification MESC SPE 77/300. This procedure specifies requirements and a type method to confirm the seat sealing, fugitive emission and operating torque capability of a valve under pressure, during and after mechanical and thermal cycling.
During this kind of tests, the valves are thus exposed to the limits of their design conditions.
To ensure the security and the good course of the tests, CEWAC has upgraded its cryogenic test bench: installation of cameras and protective wall, new data acquisition system, improvement of ergonomics, etc.
The tests have been witnessed by the customer and two SHELL supervisors.
